The first time I heard Wild Beasts (live, in a support slot), I thought they were one of the worst bands I’d ever heard. Since then, repeated exposure has forced me to reconsider. One day I might even love them.

I really like them, but then that particular strand of the 80s is something I love, even if they sound a bit up themselves. They do sound a little like they’re sucking in their cheeks to carry off a good pose.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it doesn’t excite quite as much as it might have done. Having said that though, I still listen to the old stuff with the same excitement, so maybe it’s just that this isn’t as good as the old stuff!
