Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)

by Simon

This is easily my favourite Bruce Springsteen track, the song that used to finish his live performances for about 10 years. Listening to it with a dollop of hindsight it’s easy to see where it fits into my music collection. There’s a more than a touch of Van Morrison about it in it’s melodies and arrangements. There’s a big RnB and Soul influence with that big sax driven sound. You can then hear it’s influence on Kevin Rowland and Joe Strummer – I’d be completely surprised if they weren’t fans of Bruce.

This is from the classic Hammersmith Odeon concert and it’s absolutely bursting with energy and soul and passion.
