Somewhere else

Well August came and went. And with it came a fairly big house move; one that took me somewhere else. I’ve been offline for nearly three weeks as well, thanks to the joys of getting anything done without a computer.
I’ve missed you lot!
The move has left me with a journey that is, shall we say, longer than it was previously. Long enough to catch up on books I’ve had sitting there and to listen to albums in their entirety instead of twenty minute snatches here and there. I’m still trying to work out where I am in the world, and not quite feeling at home yet. But it’s good. I’ve watched the sun rise over fields this week, which is a damn sight better than the early morning faces on the tube I have to say.
All is well.
However, I’ve still not unpacked my precious back up drive which has my music on it so there’s no tuneage for you today. Just a little hello as we get some unexpected September sunshine.

Good to have a sign of life from you. And on the same day as Whiteray over at Echoes in the Wind posted his first post on WordPress after being nuked by evil Blogger.
Good to have you back, Simon, you have been missed.

Working in town, but living far further than suburbs…I'm 15 minutes drive from 70s classic childrens programme Chidren Of The Stones, and absolutely everything feels like an XTC song….

I went to Avebury the year 'Stones' was on TV – amazing place. My aunt used to live in Codford St Mary just down the road.
I thought Southend to Holborn was hike, but you're doing a super-commute.
Two hours door to door. Four hours travelling. Still, my journey within London was over an hour long…
It doesn't have much to do with your post today per se – sorry – but as a regular reader of your blog (good work, by the way) I want to bring something to the attention of your readership, who seem to be a generally discerning bunch with good musical taste.
A campaign has started to get The Who to Number 1 in the UK singles chart, something they have never achieved. The campaign, like so much else these days, is being driven by social networking – please take a look at their Facebook group or their Twitter feed.
Their plan is to get the excellent "Baba O'Riley" to No. 1 by merit of MP3 download sales in the week commencing 16th Nov 2009. Seems to me that this would be a good thing. Please spread the word!
